Petr and Jindra Sýkorovi

Petr and Jindra are passionate about mountains and people who live there. If they have time they travel with their 2 boys Patrik and Filip mostly to the Alps and enjoy sport a lot - biking, running, trekking, ski touring and cross country skiing. Petr is an entrepreneur. Together with a partner he started PAPIRIUS at the age of 18. PAPIRIUS became the biggest supplier of office products in the region of Central and Eastern Europe operating in four countries and employing more than 600 people. The company was sold in 2006 to a global leader OFFICE DEPOT. Petr and his partner has stayed and succesfully integrated the business with a publicly trated multinational. Jindra is an expert for tourism development and apart of taking care of the family she supports Petr in all activities.

Jindra about the project Sun School for Kargyak: "When we met the team from SURYA it was clear to us that this is a unique project. The SUN SCHOOL is being built high up in the Himalayas, extremely environmentally friendly, according to a special concept. It is a place where people do not have access to basic education. What finally made us decide was the fact that SURYA people started to educate the children even before the school had been built and the response of them and their families is excellent."

Petr adds: "As an entrepreneur I always work with people who have passion and a strong vision. Honza Tillinger demonstrated this ability. He is able to turn his university theses into reality and together with his team, many volunteers and local people is personally building the school. For that and more reasons we have decided to put in all the money needed to finish the building and finance the first five years of education."
