Teacher's monthly report
I, Tenzin Dhargyal, from Dharamsala, H.P, have joined this exquisite school from 1st of November '10. I am Bodhic teacher of the Sun School. According to my understanding, despite my first being a Bodhic teacher, I don't find any point of difficulty because my students' mother tongue - Zanskari - is slightly related with Bodhic language (Tibetan language). (...)
The only difference between Zanskari and Bodhic is of word pronunciation and most of the Zanskari people are using the biggest handwriting form of Tibetan language: Ochen. But I suppose I must work hard to teach how to read, write and grammar of Tibetan language. Moreover I would like to have some Bodhic teaching aids for infant classes because we don't have specific text books for them.

On September 21st, Kargyak Sun School will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its opening. There, in one of the last places on Earth, the original Tibetan culture survives at the elevation of 4200 m. Before the school opened, the village of 200 heads had only 10 members who could read and write a little. To get an education, children were sent away to boarding schools in faraway towns. Today, the Sun School has its alumni and thanks to the project, people stopped moving away from the village.
